Hey! My name is Mariah Goeppinger and I am the Development Intern at Pulse this spring! I recently graduated from University of Northwestern – St. Paul (UNW) in December 2020 with a degree in Non-profit Leadership and Bible and two minors in Business Administration and Marketing. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters of Arts in Ministry Leadership with an emphasis in Human Services at UNW. In my free time, I love to go horseback riding, spend time with family and friends, and read lots of books! One of my most favorite places to visit is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I would love to work for a Christ-centered non-profit some day that specializes in community development. I am excited that God placed the opportunity to serve others and to further His kingdom through the work that I will be doing at Pulse this spring!
2.2.21 – February Revival Night
This day was as hectic as it was amazing! It was such a blast being able to get everything ready for the filming of the February Revival Night. 🙂 The event itself was so full of Jesus and moments of celebration for the resurrection of Christ! Different Pulse interns took turns sharing stories and experiences from their lives, and it truly was a blessing to hear about those parts of their lives!
I helped set up the Baptism and handed out towels to those who got baptized! Congrats to Leah and Evelyn for getting baptized!! ❤ God is so good! I loved having the opportunity to worship the Lord, hear a sweet testimony, listen to an amazing speaker, and help behind the scenes for the Revival Night 🙂
2.12.21 – Week 5
Wow! What a week! Our cohort had a busy day on Tuesday with two chapels scheduled, worship, and stuffing support letters! We had the daily prayer meeting with all Pulse team members, which is one of my favorite parts of the day 🙂 After our first chapel in the morning, we helped shoot TikTok videos and modeled Year of the Bible (https://yearofthebible.com/) merchandise! You should def check out YOTB; it has some amazing resources! It was a blast hanging with the other interns, laughing, and reading my favorite Bible passage (Psalm 23). After lunch, we had our second chapel and worship time. Then, I spoke on the value of prayer support letters and helped all the other interns stuff their envelopes with their support letter and prayer magnet!
I have truly enjoyed working with this wonderful group of people and am overjoyed to see the work that God will do through us to ultimately glorify Him!!
2.19.21 – Week 6
This week we were all virtual because of some internet problems that were going on in the office, but towards the end of the week the great IT guys were able to get everything figured out! I spent a good chunk of time updating the Intern Blog and adding fun pictures to different pages on the website! It can be fun to update the layouts of each page in order to give it a bit more life and color! During discipleship training, we watched a video on godly relationships and it was really good! I’d definitely recommend watching it, so here’s the link! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7h5BHax06c) Towards the end of our discipleship training day, we were able to do a virtual pilates group workout together! I’ve never done pilates before, so it was fun being able to learn something new 🙂
2.26.21 – Week 7
Hey everyone! What a week! Our cohort was busy with two events this week: Revival Night and College Day of Prayer! On Tuesday, I stamped all 250 of the initial support letters to be sent out to friends and family of all the interns! I was so thankful that some of my fellow interns helped with that task, so it was able to go a lot quicker than planned! We also went on a short run and did a stair workout for our weekly intern workout. Let’s just say my legs were a little sore lol! On Tuesday night the February Revival Night was shared on Facebook (here’s the link: https://fb.watch/3Z6-IJUBAD/) and the College Day of Prayer occurred on Thursday night (here’s the link: https://fb.watch/3Z6V9RTl5H/). Feel free to also look up “Pulse Movement” on Facebook and the videos for those two events should be posted! I chose to adopt and pray for revival at the University of South Carolina – Upstate – Greenville 🙂 It was a blast to be apart of these events with my fellow interns! I LOVE working at Pulse and getting to know other team members that work at Pulse!
3.5.21 – Week 8
This week pretty busy! On Tuesday, all the interns shared their testimonies! I felt so honored to have the opportunity to hear how God has worked in and through the lives of my fellow interns. I learned that even amidst whatever suffering you may be going through, God withholds no good from you and will always provide in times of need. Oh… and I was reminded how DEARLY he loves us!! Towards the end of the day on Tuesday, we did a short relay workout on some really wet and slippery grass… a few of us may have slipped and completely wiped out on the grass (or in my case I was dropped)! It was great to have such a fun time and laugh a ton with everyone 😀 On Thursday night we had another filming for March Revival Nights, so I’m excited to see it when it is livestreamed! Nick Hall gave an incredible message – you’ll have to watch the Revival Nights livestream to see what it’s about…
3.12.21 – Week 9
On Tuesday, we talked about the importance of confession. After the chapel, we connected with our breakout groups and answered different questions that related to the talk. For example, we read James 5:16 and discussed our answers to the question “How can you create rhythms of confession to God & others in your daily/weekly life?” I sincerely appreciated this chapel because it reminded me of how wonderful it is to having loving sisters in Christ that I can share my life with.
Later that afternoon, we went to Emily’s gym – called Union Fit – and completed a very intense circuit workout! It was fun to bond with my fellow interns as we worked out together 😉 I loved working with the instructor and having random dance parties throughout the workout! I was definitely very sore afterwards!
3.19.21 – Week 10
Dang! What a week! We started out Tuesday morning with some fun street evangelism; we prayed over the city, wiped snow off of peoples’ cars in the street, and talked with someone right outside the Pulse office about Jesus! What an experience. 🙂 As a cohort, we went to Midtown Global Market for lunch, and I tried some amazing new foods! I LOVED the chicken tamales with homemade salsa that I got! It was so fun to be able to sit down and eat lunch with everyone together 🙂
Later in the afternoon, we had a surprise waiting for us. Mark had planned a “mystery workout,” which included running around the garage, doing pushups / squats / burpees, and round robin ping pong. It was probably one of my favorite workouts by far!
3.26.21 – Week 11
We had a lot going on! On Tuesday morning, Acebe and Marissa started off the day with amazing, encouraging devotions and sharing of the gospel! ❤ Our morning chapel was on resume and interview skill building, which I felt was very relatable since I am looking for a job/where God wants me to be after I finish my internship at Pulse! The afternoon chapel was about the importance of apologetics and how to have respectful conversations with other people about it. We also brainstormed various ideas as to how we could have spiritual conversations with unbelievers in our lives.
Tuesday night we had the filming for April Revival Night! I was so thankful to be a part of the night – God was definitely at work!!! I helped with catering and shadowed Linn for the day; she is the absolutely amazing, special, and very talented events coordinator who is in charge of making sure everything for Revival Nights runs smoothly! Stay tuned for the awesome livestreams of both March and April Revival Night!
The whole team at Pulse has also been working so hard on getting everything together for the event on Good Friday. I’ve had an amazing opportunity to learn about and see how Pulse has been planning and putting all the pieces together for this event. Feel free to go to https://goodfriday.com/ to see what the Good Friday event will be all about!!!
